Nau Mai, Haere Mai, Welcome to Nāti Kai by Te Tairāwhiti Growers Collective.

We are a collective of three founding growers situated in the Waiapu River Valley on the whenua of Tikitiki, Makarika and Tikapa, collaborating with a small network of partner growers in Te Tairāwhiti. Together we are changing the way kai is grown, accessed and afforded up and down the coast.

We aim to connect whānau back to the whenua on a weekly basis through kai Atua, direct relationship with your kaimahi māra kai, through a weekly kai box.

It is our goal that all of your produce will come from us Nāti growers. However as we hone our craft as growers and at time of shortfall, produce will be included from trusted partner growers in the Tairāwhiti region or as needed, as we build our capacity. This allows start-up support to our growers and ensures no matter the seasonal issues or weather events you will always receive a box of outstanding kai.

This kaupapa is supported by Hikurangi Enterprises and aims to increase food resiliency and employment for our people.

Whānau Supported Agriculture

We have developed a Whānau Supported Agriculture model (WSA).
This is where Whānau commit to supporting us as growers directly by purchasing a share (subscription) of the upcoming season’s harvest, in return receiving their share of the weekly harvest as a box of freshly-picked vegetables.

3. You pick up or we deliver

Each week us growers harvest your vegetables, pack them into a box and you pick up from one of your local pick up points.

When you sign up for the program you become an important part of our efforts toward generating grower and kai resilience for our region and a new food system that works better for us.
